Science: Of Premarital Sex

According to a new study, couples who delay having sex get benefits later...

Interestingly, and I must admit mildly surprisingly, I couldn't find any obvious flaw in either methodology or interpretation of results (authors even controlled for religious bias in respondents). Even the proposed explanations - getting to know each other better as a person, learning how to talk through issues - sound reasonable (or at least not motivated by social conservativism). Unfortunately, I did find one possible explanation missing, at least from the abstract (I couldn't get to the study itself). What I felt was missing was the possibility that those who waited to get married before having sex also were more likely to not have had any other sexual partners before marriage either, and thus could not realistically evaluate any potential sexual deficiencies in their marriages.

It's difficult to be sure your sex life is crap if you don't know any different, be it better or worse...
