Food: Deception Point

When I saw the headline for this titbit I was jawdroppingly surprised...

Many, many things in Blighty are par excellence, but British food is an unlikely candidate for worldwide fame. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but having almost 80% of the tourists rating it as their top experience is way over the top. Of course, and as ever, reading just a couple of sentences revealed that "British food" here means "food prepared in Britain", i.e. tourists rate general restaurant experience very highly. Which is actually not surprising at all. I am yet to visit a country with a greater variety of restaurants, and quite possibly also greater quality of their fare.

So, yes, do come here to enjoy the food - just don't expect wonders from fish and chips or meat and three veg...
