Business: Delayed

A delayed business-related post...

Apparently a sluggish economy means hard times for US executioners. Well, boo-hoo. The figures, however, are staggering: more than a hundred people sentenced to death in each of the last two years, and twice as much in 2000. Scary. Even scarier, some executions have been "delayed and cancelled" because of the shortage of lethal drugs. How horrible it must be for the prisoners on death row: "We are very sorry, but you will have to go on living for another little while, while we try to get some lethal drugs for you." Scariest of all is that "measurable returns" from death penalty are being taken into account, too.

Who said that you cannot place a value on human life...
